A Wind Shear Down Waskerley Way
Ive just been spending the past day and a half, solely listening to the title track off Waskerley Way's new EP, Wind Shear. In my humble opinion, this is the best thing he has put to tape to date, hands down. Its 9 minutes and drifts along at a sunny, laidback pace, before opening up in the back quarter with soaring guitars - I was not expecting something with such an epic, all-encompassing sound! There are Deerhunter/Bradford Cox vibes here, which of course appeals to me straight away, yet everything is in its right place on this track. If there was any doubt that this guy was the goods, this should put your minds at ease.
Pick up the EP from his Bandcamp here.
