Destruction Unit

I'm not having much luck this year - I have been ill about five bloody times, never been this sick in my life! And every time I miss some great music. Tonight - Kitchen's Floor are playing at Shacklewell Arms (with Lachlan Anderson), and tomorrow's Rat Columns show at Montague Arms and Friday's Sealings show (also at Shacklewell) are looking remote. So I gotta look beyond - to next Thursday in fact. Another Shacklewell show, this time for Arizona behemoths Destruction Unit. They are bringing out new LP Negative Feedback Resistor on Sacred Bones, and it promises to be a scorcher. Here are a couple tracks off it.

#1 Sauna Dive In Montague TONIGHT

Just a final post for Sunday. If you are in South London - or in London - or in England - or have a teleporter - you should pop along to the Montague Arms in Peckham tonight to see a gig. Static Shock are host The #1's from Ireland (over to support the excellent Reigning Sound who play 100 Club tomorrow night) for their own headline show. It's an excellent night for supports too - with a new album Distractions under their arm, Sauna Youth are rip-raring to go. And opening up proceedings is newly settled Londoner (and still very much a Dick Diver) Alistair McKay. Details here.

About

It was early on a Sunday morning at ATP - A Nightmare Before Christmas 2009. After downing a fair few, at 4am we decided to cook a curry. It was during the consumption of this drunkenly delicious breakfast treat that we decided to actually do something about the music we talk about all the time.

So we started a blog – and Sonic Masala was born. Now into its seventh year, the blog has spread out to call both Australia and the UK its home (and the rest of the world), and has expanded to include gigs, festivals and a record label under its black umbrella. Come on, eat the noize.

If an mp3 is up here, it's because we have been talking about it, and think the whole world needs to know more. It's there to give you a little taste. Then, if you like, check out the band live and spend all your hard earned cash on their records. If we've posted up an mp3 of your stuff and you're not too keen on the idea, let us know and we'll happily take it down pronto.
