Those Beautiful, Strange Fountains

A little while ago I wrote about the cool releases from Palmz and Model Railway Exhibition that London-based label Verulamiam Records put out. The founder also runs a club night called Beautiful Strange. In the interests of combining the two, the label is now also Beautiful Strange, and the first release from the newly monikered crew is Easily Led/Repetition, an excellent two-track 7" by London band Fountains.

This piece of wax is the closest thing to Interpol channelling Joy Division, without being Interpol (although I love Turn On The Bright Lights to death), with a bit of Brit shoegaze beefing up the production. Produced by the irrepressible Rory Attwell, this is a major coup for a renamed label, and an incredibly strong calling card for a strong new act.

Easily Led/Repetition is out now - get it, it's great!
