Back in action with Portland trio Sioux Falls. Big Krackel is an EP that marries the best parts of Doug Martsch, Paul Westerberg and a angst-riddled Fugazi into a broiling melting pot, tempered by the thinnest of veneers, ready to erupt at the slightest provocation. The title track does so, in fact - a few times. There is a blue collar strength that courses through these six songs' veins - people struggling to get by, eager to flee, to retreat, before baring their teeth and fighting against their plight. Great stuff.
