Fire, sweet!

Guten tagen kinder! And yet another Monday rolls around. Hope you had a rocking weekend. Mine was spent rolling balls down a lane with a pint in hand, listening to late 90s/early 2000s indie and playing pool in decrepit bars. Almost perfect, you could say! But the workday week is here, and its depressing for most folk, even if some of you are like me and have resorted to eating beans on toast as a daily supplement. So (also like me) Sonic Masala is here to pick you up over the week!

First cab off the ranks this week is Sheffield's Firesuite. The boys sent us a newly finished track called 'Amity' - listen to the streamed song below, then go snavvle it from their bandcamp page. Firesuite have taken pleasure from the art of layering sound and melody as a forceful dynamic, building emotion and suspense towardsa a satisfying climax. Nothing sexual here (well, maybe for some...), just nice lush orchestration and ambience that surges forth to reveal its true nature.

Firesuite have toured with the likes of Rolo Tomassi and two of SM's live favourites, Monotonix and And So I Watch You From Afar, so are making gradual in-roads. Will keep you posted on -the developments of this long gestating LP as it comes along.
