Discos Mascarpone is a new DIY label out of Valencia, Spain, and already they have a great release on their hands in the form of
Mi Brazo Que Te Sobre (
You On My Arm), the debut LP from
Cuello (Neck). It's a rip-roaring rock beast, the best parts of Mission Of Burma, Superchunk and MC5 with pathos, warmth and enough vitriolic energy to reignite the Sun. Its all sung in Spanish (and fair enough, really), so I can't say what these songs are about, but nor do I need to - this is excellence in any language. Seriously - this is so great!
You can get the album here - seriously worth the shipping costs - this is an outright keeper.
